High Frequency Infusion: What Is It? Does It Benefit Me?

High Frequency Infusion: What Is It? Does It Benefit Me?

Recently we have launched our membership program (you can view all of the info here) and one of our brand new  services is the Vie.I.P Luxe Facial that includes a treatment called high frequency.

It's something that isn't as commonly known these days as it was in the 90s but has a wide range of benefits for your skin and promotes healthy, glowing skin. In 2023 we have officially introduced it to you at Vie Esthetic Studio!

This treatment involves using a small handheld device that emits a low-level electrical current to the skin's surface. In this blog post, we will discuss what high frequency is, how it works, and its benefits for the skin.

  1. What is high frequency?

High frequency involves the use of a small handheld device that emits a low-level electrical current to the skin's surface. The device is equipped with a glass electrode that is filled with a gas, typically argon or neon. When the electrode is brought into contact with the skin, it produces a mild electrical current that stimulates the skin's cells and promotes circulation.

  1. How does high frequency work?

The electrical current produced by the device promotes blood flow to the skin's surface, which increases the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the skin's cells. This increased blood flow also helps to remove toxins from the skin, leaving it looking and feeling healthier.

In addition to promoting circulation, high frequency infusion treatments also produce a mild heat that helps to open up the pores and increase the skin's absorption of topical products. This allows skincare products to penetrate deeper into the skin, enhancing their effectiveness.

  1. Benefits of high frequency on the skin

There are many benefits to incorporating high frequency infusion treatments into your skincare routine. Some of these benefits include:

  • Promoting circulation and oxygenation of the skin
  • Stimulating collagen production, which helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Enhancing the skin's absorption of topical skincare products
  • Reducing inflammation, redness and promoting healing
  • Treating acne and preventing future breakouts
  • Improving the overall health and appearance of the skin
  1. Who Can Benefit from High Frequency Infusion Treatments?

High frequency is suitable for all skin types, but is particularly beneficial for those with acne-prone or aging skin. This treatment can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as treat and prevent future breakouts. It is also beneficial for those with dull or tired-looking skin, as it helps promote circulation and oxygenation of the skin.

  1. How often should you get high frequency?

The frequency of high frequency treatments will depend on your skin type and individual needs. Some people may benefit from weekly treatments, while others may only need them once every few weeks or monthly. It is important to work with a  skincare professional to determine the best treatment schedule for your skin. If you are unsure about whether this is right for you, we are more then happy to answer any questions you might have.

Something to keep in mind is that there are some contraindications such as:

  • Epilepsy, pregnancy, heart conditions
  • Metal plates or pins, pacemakers, excessive fillings

In conclusion, high frequency is a safe and effective way to promote healthy, glowing skin.  Incorporating this treatments to your regular facials can help improve the overall health and appearance of your skin.
